Steel Horse Adventures is the dreamchild of Brent Tate. Brent hails
from Bentonville, AR and has been riding for some years. A few years
back a couple friends of Brent wanted to come to Bikes Blues ans BBQ in
Fayetteville, AR, the biggest family friendly motorcycle event in the
nation, and couldn't find anywhere to stay or camp. So, Brent made some
space available at his family's "farm", about 40 or so acres just 5
miles south of the "Big Event". Word got out and in '06 he held the
"Rally at the Rally" and cleared almost 30 acres of the "farm", built
some showers and set up "facilities".
The "Rally at the Rally" hosted a couple
bands like Big Red and the Soul Benders and the Crossroads Band.
Vendors caught wind and there were even a few vendors. In 2007 he
renamed the Event to "Greenland '07", cleared more of the "farm" and
built a stage.
Big Red and Crossroads were back, and with
the help of Tim at Hog Wild Recording Studios in Cave Springs, filled
the Play List with up to 15 bands from all over the
Arkansas-Oklahoma-Missouri area. Genres from Country to Alternative to
Classic and Southern Rock played from 6pm til' around Midnight!
It all started out as camping for a few
tents and an RV or two. Greenland '07 had some 40 RV's, over 500
visitors and we're still waiting on the tally on the tent campers.
